Receiving a grant from the Orchid Music Charitable Trust
· Grants are at the complete discretion of the Trustees, who will take advice in confidence from any third parties they wish.
· Grants are generally given to make commercial recordings possible, although they can also be given to assist with PR and showcase concerts.
· The Trustees meet regularly throughout the year and will consider possible grants on an ongoing basis.
· Artists must be nominated by a credible third party active in the music industry, such as an agent, record producer, promoter, administrator or more senior artist, giving basic information of the purpose for which the grant is requested and the costs involved. Direct applications from artists will not be accepted or responded to.
· Where the Trustees wish to explore an application further, the artists will be invited to submit more detailed information and on occasion, to meet the Trustees and/or their advisers.
· Grants will generally be made where the Trustees feel that an opportunity has been presented which could significantly assist the development of the artist’s career, and where the artist is judged to be of exceptional potential and character.
