Orchid Classics was founded in 2005 by violinist Matthew Trusler, with the goal of producing artist-focused recordings of the highest quality and artistic interest.
The label, still under Trusler's artistic direction and now chaired by James Brown, managing director of Hazard Chase, has quickly established a reputation for distinctive recordings of high quality and originality. Releases range from James Gilchrist performing the great Schubert song cycles, Ashley Wass in recital and the Brodsky Quartet playing Ravel, Gershwin and Golijov, to Ralph Fiennes reading Kipling, Simon Pegg reading Spike Milligan, and Bjarke Mogensen in a stunning and revelatory accordion recital.

"Orchid, shows the way for classical artists after the giant companies' economic turbulence ... the Orchid label holds plenty of surprises yet." (Time Out)

Orchid Classics albums have gained an exceptional degree of positive press coverage, regularly receiving accolaides such as Editor's Choice in Gramophone Magazine, Critic's choice in BBC Music Magazine, and album of the week in national broadsheets as well as on Classic FM.

The company has now expanded to include a PR consultancy devision, providing a wide range of services to artists and organisations.
